Kaachi Keri nu Panu(Healthy Raw Mango Drink) By Pratibha Jani

This is a great slushy sweet n sour raw mango drink for late spring and summer times. Especially when it is really hot outside. It’s a cool and refreshing drink and really quick and easy to make.

Kaachi Keri Nu Panu (Healthy raw mango drink)

Ingredients:

  • 4 to 6 small or 2 medium size raw mangoes
  • salt to taste
  • one table spoon of Gor(God) or Jaggery
  • one teaspoon cumin seeds
  • pinch of turmeric powder
  • pinch of red chilli powder

Method:

Rinse mangoes well and boil / cook in  a pressure cooker or a pan on stove. Pressure cook for about 7 or so minutes (2 whistles) Once the cooker depressurizes, open the cooker and let it cool for a few minutes. In case you are cooking on stove jsut cook for about ten to 12 minutes till tender and cool off to peel the skin off. Keep the cooked water as we will use the same water to create our drink. Peel all the raw mangoes, and then mash all the mangoes by hand remove all the seeds from the mangoes and now add all the peeled and seeded mangoes into the water. Keep all the pulp and the fiber of the water. Bring it on the stove and add all the spices. Stir well and add all the spices. Add salt, Jaggery (god or gor) red chilli powder, turmeric powder and the cumin seeds. Allow the mixture to come to a nice one to two boils and stir well to mix all the flavors in. That’s it.

We are ready to enjoy and share with family and friends. You can refrigerate it and drink it cool or you can drink it right away. Enjoy everyone, share, like and pass it on.
